Aromatherapy is an old type of therapy designed to help mind and body. Mostly it is done by vaporizing different essential oils that are particularly chosen for the condition. Besides from giving a nice smell, essential oils can provide respiratory disinfection, decongestant, and a range of psychological benefits.

Inhaling essential oils stimulates the olfactory system, which is the sensory system responsible for smell. Molecules that enter the nose or mouth pass to the lungs, and from there, to other parts of the body including the brain where they affect limbic system. Limbic system is the one controlling our emotions, motivation, learning and memory. Emotions have great influence on the heart rate, blood pressure, breathing pattern, and hormone balance. 

Hence, doing aromatherapy one can holistically influence major functions of the body and manage some health conditions.
